PhotoBooth
The idea of PhotoBooth is to explore what people of Tower Hamlets in 2016 think about the social questions raised by Charles Booth more than 100 years ago. Fifteen volunteers from those who work at or use Oxford House in Bethnal Green were interviewed and asked to comment on a range of social issues. The interviews, which took place in the Old Chapel at Oxford House, were filmed. PhotoBooth is presented as an edited video compilation of the interviews and as a series of portraits with quotations from the interviews as captions. The Chapel proved a challenging location as, on more than one occasion, interviews were stopped because of the deafening sound of rain coming through the roof or the boot steps of the workmen undertaking repairs.
