Regeneration Regeneration is work in progress. It will document the regeneration of Toynbee Hall that is currently underway through a major redevelopment project. For over 130 years Toynbee Hall has been a shining beacon on Commercial Street in Whitechapel offering help to the disadvantaged of East London. Today, the ‘shop front’ is a little worn - not unreasonable for a charitable organisation – better to spend the limited funds on services rather than cosmetics. However, when inadequate facilities get in the way of delivering the services on offer there comes a time for change. The images are intended for the Toynbee Hall's archive and will be published on a regular basis in the ongoing 'Regeneration' blog. On completion of the construction work it is anticipated that an exhibition of selected photographs will take place in the new Heritage Centre. Keith Greenough April 2016
