Regeneration
Regeneration is work in progress. It will document the regeneration of Toynbee Hall that is currently underway through a major redevelopment project.  For over 130 years Toynbee Hall has been a shining beacon on Commercial Street in Whitechapel offering help to the disadvantaged of East London. Today, the ‘shop front’ is a little worn - not unreasonable for a charitable organisation – better to spend the limited funds on services rather than cosmetics. However, when inadequate facilities get in the way of delivering the services on offer there comes a time for change. The images are intended for the Toynbee Hall's archive and will be published on a regular basis in the ongoing 'Regeneration' blog. On completion of the construction work it is anticipated that an exhibition of selected photographs will take place in the new Heritage Centre.
